Amin Barbar has experimented with more than twelve genres of speech in Urdu and Punjabi (both languages). In addition to humorous poetry, humorous haiku, satire and humorous pieces, he has also written children's poems and paheels. Eight books of Amin Babar have been published so far. Several books are waiting to be published on Mansa Shahood. He has been awarded more than eighteen awards. In the literary world, Amin Babar has a distinct identity as a poet.
Five Urdu poetry books of Amin Babar, including Sajde Mohabbat Ke, Dil Bhoj Hai Sine Mein, Kya Phool Hain Sirso Ke, Sapno Ka Mela, Ek Dhoom Macha Bansi, have been published on Mansa Shahood. Apart from this, other books of Punjabi poetry, including Dil Dehlizh Te Nachiyan Peedan (Punjabi Ghazals) and Sanaye Risalat Ma'ab (Urdu Punjabi Naats), have also been published. And there are many other unpublished books that are waiting to be published on Mansa Shahood. In the literary world, Amin Babar has a distinct identity as a literary critic. He writes poetry in Urdu and Punjabi. Along with Urdu, Amin Babar has also written poetry in Punjabi. In Punjabi poetry, Amin Babar has tried his hand at poetry in more or less fifty genres besides Ghazal. He has prepared a comprehensive manuscript called "Patari Sanfaan Di" containing all these genres, and in addition, separate manuscripts are also prepared in four genres. In addition, two books of his Punjabi poetry have been published under the names of "Ishq Chadaya Rang Ni Maye" and "Dil Dehliiz Te Nachiyan Peda". While two volumes of ghazals are awaiting publication, Amin Babar has also earned a special name in children's literature. Amin Babar's first poem written for children was "Jagnu", which was published in the April 5, 1987 edition of "Bachno Ka Saadat", a weekly edition for children of the daily newspaper "Saadat" published in Faisalabad, while his first story written for children, "Mysterious Shadow", was published in the November 1986 issue of "Khluna", a monthly magazine for children published in Lahore. And then this series continued. Amin Babar's stories, poems and articles written for children continued to be published in many magazines and newspapers published for children from different cities. And now each draft of Amin Babar's stories and poems written for children is ready for publication. Amin Babar said in an interview: “From the very beginning of poetry, I started writing poems and stories for children.”(6) Amin Babar has achieved a special place in Urdu poetry.
Amin Babar has both Punjabi tradition-related and modern types of poetry, as if his poetry is a beautiful blend of tradition and modernity. An overview of the themes of his poetry is presented below.
