This research paper explores the prevailing social, economic, and political issues in District Rahim Yar Khan and proposes practical solutions in light of Islamic teachings. The district, located in southern Punjab, Pakistan, faces multiple challenges including poverty, illiteracy, unemployment, tribal conflicts, political instability, and lack of basic infrastructure. These problems affect the lives of millions and hinder the overall development of the region. Drawing upon primary Islamic sources—the Qur’ān and Sunnah—as well as the opinions of classical and modern scholars, this study presents an analytical framework to evaluate the root causes of these issues. Socially, problems like domestic violence, drug addiction, and lack of education are examined, while economically, land disputes, feudalism, and unemployment are discussed. Politically, the study highlights governance issues, lack of representation, and weakening democratic institutions. The paper argues that Islamic values such as justice (ʿadl), equity (insāf), social welfare (iḥsān), consultation (shūrā), and public accountability (masʾūliyyah) offer timeless solutions. The paper concludes that sustainable development in Rahim Yar Khan can be achieved through a value-based system guided by Islamic principles—ensuring peace, justice, and prosperity. This localized study serves as a model for other underdeveloped districts in Pakistan.
