Belief in the Hereafter is a central and essential component of Islamic teachings, as it makes human beings aware of the true purpose and ultimate destiny of life. The Qur'an repeatedly emphasizes accountability, reward, and punishment in the Hereafter, which instills a sense of seriousness and moral consciousness in human actions and behavior. According to Qur’anic teachings, worldly life is temporary whereas the Hereafter is eternal; therefore, individuals are encouraged to evaluate their character and conduct according to standards that ensure success on the Day of Judgment. Belief in the Hereafter and in divine accountability is not merely a conceptual doctrine but plays a vital role in the construction and progress of human life. This belief profoundly influences human morality, attitudes, and decision-making processes. Consequently, the doctrine of the Hereafter emerges as a fundamental source of self-accountability, responsibility, and moral stability in the development of human personality.
