Abstract

The Prophetic era stands as the foundation of Islamic civilization, not only for its spiritual legacy but also for its model of social and military engagement. Within this historical period, the role of women has often been viewed through the lens of domestic and moral responsibility. However, a deeper examination of the Seerah (biography of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ) reveals that Muslim women actively participated in several military contexts—ranging from logistical support and battlefield nursing to direct engagement in defense.

This paper aims to explore the military services rendered by Muslim women during the lifetime of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. Through classical sources of Seerah, Hadith, and early Islamic history, this study highlights the practical contributions of women such as Umm Ammarah (Nusaybah bint Ka'ab), Umm Sulaym, and others who exemplified courage, sacrifice, and strategic participation during significant battles like Uhud, Hunayn, and Khandaq..
