Abstract

"Aiwan-e-Ghazal" is a novel in which Jilani Bano presents us with the image of the declining family of Ahmed Hussain and Wahid Hussain. The main characters in this novel are Chand and Ghazal. Chand is the daughter of Haider Ali Khan and Ghazal is the daughter of Batool Begum, who is the main heroine of this novel. There are many characters in this novel by Jilani Bano who represent different ages and different classes.

Chand and Ghazal are very beautiful and graceful girls. Chand, who is more the apple of her maternal uncle Rashid's eyes and the darling of her maternal aunty Razia than her maternal grandmother, and the focus of Haider Khan's love and affection on the other hand, is brought up in a free environment because her father is a supporter of progressive ideas. But Chand's fashionism is not at all liked by Nana Wahid Hussain. But she has entered a stage of her age where there is no way for her to make her point.
