THE LAND OF IRAN: IN VIEW OF THE TRAVELOGUE

Abstract

In the recent decades, dozens of travelogues have been written about Iran. By studying a selection of them, we find that, according to point of the view of travellers, each dimension

of Iran has been seen from different angles and has been reflected in the travelogue with different effects. One of these dimensions is the Iranian society, and various images of it have been drawn in these writings. The war and its aftermath, the description of the cemetery from a political and cultural point of view, the description of the market and its

attractions, the description of vehicles as public transportation to support people , the strong presence of Iranian active women in society are some of the issues that have been considered in most travelogues. Travelogues have expressed their views and influences on

them. They also clearly describe what they have seen or encountered from the culture,customs, and way of life of the people in the city. In the transparent image collection of the Iranian society, the travelogues are presented to the reader in these travelogues. This article discusses the facts.
