Khawaja Ghulam Farid, a prominent Sufi poet of the 19th century from the Saraiki belt; Wasaib and former princely state of Bahawalpur, presents a deep-rooted vision of humanism in his poetic works. His Kafis are rich in themes of love, tolerance, spiritual unity, and the dignity of mankind, transcending religious, ethnic, and cultural boundaries. Farid’s poetry offers a mystical yet socially inclusive worldview that advocates for equality, compassion, and universal brotherhood. This article explores the humanistic dimensions of his Seraiki poetry, emphasizing his rejection of sectarianism and materialism, and highlighting his call for harmony among all human beings. Through a critical literary analysis of selected verses, the paper reveals how Khawaja Farid’s message remains deeply relevant in today’s fractured world, offering a path towards empathy, coexistence, and spiritual solidarity.
