"THE ARABIC SYMBOLS IN THE POETRY OF ʿABD AL-RAḤMĀN JĀMĪ: MANIFESTATIONS OF DIVINE LOVE AND SPIRITUAL SUFISM"
Abstract
Molana Abdul Rahman Jami's poetry is one of the most profound representations of Arabic symbols that reflect divine love, asceticism, and spirituality. His poetry serves as a mirror to the thought of Islamic mysticism, using Arabic symbols to interpret the deep aspects of human spiritual life. Through his verses, Jami expresses divine love and union with God, as well as the divine truth that can only be perceived through spiritual experience. The Arabic symbols he employs point to the remembrance of God, divine light, and psychological purification, reflecting Qur'anic concepts and Prophetic traditions that call for spiritual elevation.
Remembrance and divine light are among the most prominent symbols in his poetry, showing how a person can meet God and achieve spiritual purification. His poetry also reflects the soul's journey from darkness to light, urging humility and the avoidance of ego, which aligns with the teachings of the Qur'an.
