This research explores the personality and scholarly contributions of the eminent Hadith scholar Al-Hafiz Abu Bakr Al-Khatib Al-Baghdadi, focusing on his renowned book “Al-Jami‘ li Akhlaq al-Rawi wa Adab al-Sami‘” The study is divided into two main chapters: the first presents a concise biography of Al-Khatib, including his lineage, scholarly upbringing, major travels, teachers, students, religious beliefs, jurisprudential school, and literary output. The second chapter provides a comprehensive analysis of the book, confirming its attribution to the author, discussing its subject matter and purpose, significance and unique features, methodology, scholarly reception, and manuscript descriptions. Key findings highlight Al-Khatib’s prominent scholarly stature and the book’s pivotal role as a foundational source in the field of Hadith ethics and methodology. The study recommends integrating such works into educational curricula, especially in contemporary times, to revive proper scholarly conduct and respect for knowledge.
