Abstract

This research article examines the social rules and ethical guidelines related to mutual relationships as presented in Sunan al-Tirmidhi, with a particular focus on the rights and responsibilities between parents and children. The study highlights how Prophetic traditions provide a comprehensive framework for regulating family life, emphasizing respect, compassion, obedience, and justice within the household. It explores the reciprocal nature of these rights, where parents are entrusted with proper upbringing, moral training, and provision, while children are obligated to show respect, obedience, and care. By analyzing selected Ahadith, the research demonstrates how these teachings contribute to the stability of the family system and the broader social structure. The study also connects classical teachings with contemporary societal needs, showing their relevance in addressing modern familial challenges. Ultimately, it presents Sunan al-Tirmidhi as a significant source for understanding Islamic social ethics and family values.
