Ummah Welfare Trust Foundation (UWTF) is a prominent non-governmental organization (NGO) that has been actively engaged in humanitarian and welfare services since its establishment in 2001 by Maulana Mufti Idrees. With its headquarters in the United Kingdom and a central office in Nowshera, Pakistan, UWTF has expanded its operations not only across Pakistan—including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and other provinces—but also globally. The primary mission of the organization is to provide relief and sustainable solutions to the distressed and marginalized communities, regardless of geographical boundaries. Its services are not limited to emergency relief but extend to long-term initiatives in the fields of education, healthcare, orphan support, vocational training, widow care, and disaster response. The Trust operates under a registered framework, ensuring transparency and accountability through a Board of Directors that oversees its income and expenditure, mostly funded through donations. By adopting a holistic approach, UWTF emphasizes both immediate assistance and sustainable welfare solutions that address the root causes of poverty and social vulnerability. Its initiatives also reflect Islamic principles of service, compassion, and social justice, particularly focusing on orphan care and widows’ support as central pillars of its mission. In the context of contemporary challenges, the Foundation’s role becomes even more vital in strengthening community resilience and fostering human dignity. This study explores the establishment, organizational structure, and wide-ranging social services of UWTF while assessing its impact and relevance in today’s socio-economic landscape.
