Abstract

Iqbal and Molana Zafar Ali Khan were two famous poets. Both poets were native of the District Sialkot (Pakistan). Both had studied Arabic and Islamic studies in early ages. Both poets were highly educated and specialized in social sciences. Both poets were students of Professor Arnold and were influenced by him. It’s fact that Iqbal is proved superior to Molana Zafar Ali Khan, Because Molana himself admires Iqbal’s art and intellect in his writings and poetry. There are also many poems and verses by both poets that are the joint efforts of both poets. Iqbal gave lectures in English on the importance of Islamic culture at MAO College, Lahore in 1911, which were translated by Maulana Zafar Ali Khan as "Millat e Beza Per Aik Imrani Nazar”.

This article involves of the study of common factors of their personal, intellectual and artistic approach. Both have made their poetry a powerful tool for achieving the porpuse of preching Islam. Both poets have strongly opposed extremism, sectarianism, racism, and prejudices based on religion, language and region. Both reformers taught the lesson of unity of the Muslim Ummah, struggle and reform. Both poets had great devotion and love for the Holy Prophet (PBUH), which is expressed in their poetry. Iqbal and molana Zafar Ali Khan composed their poetry for people and Muslims around the world.
