Abstract

The presented article discusses the beginning and evolution of translations, and especially the principles and tradition of Urdu translations. The importance of translation has been highlighted by keeping in mind the literal and figurative meaning of Urdu translation. Translation is actually the process of transferring all thoughts and ideas from one language to another in such a way that the difference between the original and the copy does not remain. That is, the translation and the compilation become one. The basic need of translation is that the thoughts and ideas of one language should be transferred to another language so that a form of communication can be developed between nations, and one civilization can be exposed to another civilization. Translations play an important role in the growth and development of any civilization. Languages can be kept alive only through translations, because everyone agrees that if a civilization loses its utilization, it stagnates and dries up its sources. The process of translation itself protects the roots of a civilization from becoming dry and barren and nurture it. Keeping this importance of translations in mind, this article describes the principles and tradition of Urdu translations.
