This article presents an analytical study of the juristic methodologies of the four imam and their practical application in the modern era. These methodologies not only shaped the classical schools of Islamic law but also established comprehensive principles for deriving legal rulings from the primary sources of Islam. Despite their common reliance on the Quran and Sunnah, each Imam adopted distinct approaches regarding the use of consensus, analogical reasoning, juristic preference, public interest, customary practice, and other subsidiary sources. This study aims to examine the methodologies of legal deduction employed by the four imams and to analyze their practical applicability in addressing contemporary issues. The research further investigates how contemporary Islamic jurists and Fiqh academies utilize these classical methodologies in in formulating responses to emerging issues that were not explicitly addressed in classical legal literature. The study concludes that the methodologies of four Imams possess significant flexibility and adaptability, enabling Islamic jurisprudence to respond effectively to changing circumstances while remaining faithful to its foundational sources. The research highlights the enduring relevance of these methodologies and underscores their importance in addressing the complex challenges of the modern world.
