Abstract

Miraj refers to the physical and spiritual jorney of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ that took place in a signal night from Makkah to Jerusalem ,and then through the seven heavens to Sidrat al-Muntaha  and Qaab Qawsayn. This event occurred in th 10th 0r 11th year of  Prophethood .

It is two parts:

  1. Isra: The earthly journey from Masjid al-Haram to Masjid al-Aqsa
  2. Miraj: The heavenly ascent from Masjid al-Aqsa to the skies.

According to Tafseer Al-Janaan Fi Fahm Al-Qur'an ,Miraj occurred Physically in a state of wakefulness ,and in one night .Denying it is misguidance  because it is proven by the Quran ,Mutawatir Hadith ,and consensus of the Ummah. Its purpose was to console the Prophet ﷺand grant the Ummah the gift of Salah.
