Abstract

In multilingual societies, language serves not only as a means of communication but also as a fundamental element of cultural identity, social cohesion, and national development. Language policy plays a crucial role in determining the extent to which different languages are recognized and promoted within a state. Regional languages represent local cultures, traditions, and historical consciousness, and their preservation helps maintain cultural diversity within societies. This research article examines the role of language policy in multilingual societies, highlighting the significance of regional languages and their impact on national development. The study demonstrates that effective language policies contribute to educational advancement, promote social inclusion, and create broader economic opportunities. Furthermore, the promotion and protection of regional languages strengthen national unity while preserving valuable cultural heritage.
