This research paper presents an analytical study of the socio-political implications of the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah and the Pledge of Ridwan (Bay'at-e-Ridwan) through the lens of Maulana Ahmad Ali Lahori’s exegetical insights. By examining the scholarly notes compiled in "Tafseer-e-Lahori," the study highlights how these landmark events in Seerah transitioned the early Muslim community from a state of conflict to a strategic phase of diplomatic recognition and internal consolidation. The research delves into Maulana Lahori’s interpretation of divine tranquility (Sakinah) and the "Pledge under the Tree," emphasizing the spiritual resilience and political unity that enabled the Sahaba to withstand the provocative arrogance (Hamiyyah al-Jahiliyyah) of the Quraysh. The second part of the study evaluates the contemporary significance of these Quranic discourses in addressing modern challenges. It investigates how the prophetic model of conflict resolution, the sanctity of international covenants, and the prevention of religious extremism—exemplified by Caliph Umar’s decision to remove the historical tree to prevent ritualistic innovations—offer a timeless roadmap for the Muslim Ummah. The paper concludes that Maulana Lahori’s interpretative framework provides essential guidance for navigating contemporary socio-political crises, advocating for a balance between unwavering faith, strategic patience, and the prioritization of human life and social peace over militaristic escalation.
