Abstract

A novel is a true depiction of human life. It highlights all the issues of human existence. The events and conditions of 1857 were beautifully presented by novelists. Various individual problems such as political, social, religious, economic, and cultural were introduced in a new way. The first Urdu novelist was Deputy Nazir Ahmad, who wrote his first masterpiece novel Mirat-ul-Uroos in 1869. It was a reformative novel. After that, many novelists included different subjects in their works. Among the many novelists, the twentieth-century renowned writer Hasan Manzar stands out. He highlighted individual issues in a unique way in his novels. This article specifically discusses the individual problems presented in Hasan Manzar’s novel Al-Asifah.
